Supporting the Humboldt Broncos

Like many Canadians and beyond, our thoughts are with the Humboldt community that is grieving the tragic accident that took the lives of 15 Humboldt Broncos Hockey players on April 6th. Hockey is an important part of the Abbotsford community and culture, especially for two of our schools that host Hockey Academies – W.A. Fraser Middle & Yale Secondary School.

After hearing the news, three of our Gr. 8 student-athletes (who attend W.A. Fraser and are part of our Yale Hockey Academy Bantam team) put a plan in place to raise funds for the Humboldt Broncos. Hosting a walk-a-thon during the Yale Hockey Academy’s Evaluation Weekend on Saturday, the students managed to collect over $1,200 for the GoFundMe campaign. Well done, YHA Lions!
