Yale sees 5th straight NHL Draft Pick!

Make it 5 years in a row!  Jarrett Tyszka becomes the 7th Yale Hockey Academy alumnus to be drafted in the last 5 consecutive years!  Tyszka was a member of the Yale Midget Prep team that had a tremendous year capturing the 2014 Bauer Championship in Chicago, and finishing runner-up in the KIMMIT Tournament in Kelowna and in the 2015 CSSHL Championships.  

Tyszka was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round, 149th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
 
Tyszka, 18, registered 10 points (3-7-10) in 25 games with the Yale Hockey Academy Midget Prep team during the 2014-15 season, while also collecting two penalty-minutes in three post-season games.
 
The Langley, B.C. product was selected in the first round, 16th overall, by the Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
 
Tyszka has spent the past two seasons with the Thunderbirds, accumulating 31 points (9-22-31) in 102 games.
 
The 6-foot-2 defenceman notched seven points (2-5-7) in 20 post-season games with Seattle this past season, helping the Thunderbirds capture the 2017 WHL Championship.
