The Abbotsford Board of Education regularly meets throughout the school year. Agendas and minutes from the public Board Meetings can be accessed through the District's Electronic School Board. Below is a summary of highlights from the meeting.
Principal Tara Plantinga presented an overview of a lunchtime initiative developed in partnership with student leaders from Abbotsford Middle School. Over six weeks, middle school students visited Alexander Elementary weekly to lead basketball, soccer, and English Language Learning (ELL) support programs. Each session ran once per week with supervision from Alexander staff. The initiative provided enriching activities for Alexander students and fostered mentorship and community connection. Students shared how the program positively impacted their school experience.
Clayburn Middle School highlighted their recent involvement in the Experiences Canada Quebec Exchange Program, a national initiative that fosters cross-cultural learning among students across provinces. Principal Reg Gabriel, Teacher Christie Fehlauer, ISW Sydney Ned, and participating students from grades 8, 9, and 10 shared reflections on how the exchange broadened their understanding of language, culture, and community. Alumni of the program shared their experience with the Board.
Executive Director Darcy Halber and Mentoring Program Coordinator Denisa Dyck attended to present an overview of their initiatives, with a focus on the Restorative Action Program. They also shared updates from the past year in several district schools.
Superintendent Nosek presented the public budget consultation findings to the board, and Acting Secretary-Treasurer Nathan Ngieng presented the preliminary budget for 2025-2026.

The Board of Education approved the amount of $500 representing hole sponsorship in support of the 2025 Archway Community Services Charity Golf Tournament.
The Board of Education approved the request from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley to sponsor group programs in the amount of $7,000.
The Board of Education approved a sponsorship in the amount of $500 in support of the 2025 Abbotsford Agrifair.
