National Accessibility Awareness Week 2026

June 1, 2026

Small Actions That Make a Big Difference

As part of National Accessibility Awareness Week, the Abbotsford School District is encouraging staff and community members to take a few moments to learn more about accessibility and inclusion in everyday interactions.

Throughout the week, staff will have opportunities to explore important topics such as Areas of Refuge, interacting respectfully with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) users, and how to support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. These small moments of learning can help create safer, more welcoming spaces for everyone in our schools and community.

Find resources on these topics here.

Accessibility is a shared responsibility. By increasing awareness and understanding, we can continue building inclusive environments where all students, staff, and families feel supported and valued.

Thank you to the contributors to our community who continue to champion accessibility and inclusion across the Abbotsford School District.
