Billy Wilms

Mr. Wilms has been teaching in Abbotsford for over 20 years, and playing hockey for over 20 years. He is the Academy Coordinator for the Yale Hockey Academy.  He graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics (BHK 2000), a Bachelor of Education from U.B.C. (B.Ed. 2001) and most recently, Masters of Educational Practice (M.Ed 2011) at Simon Fraser University (2011).
He has coached minor hockey at the ‘AAA’ level, (Pacific Coast Champions) as well as organized instructional hockey schools in the lower mainland. He is also the regional lower-mainland scout for the WHL Spokane Chiefs.  Mr. Wilms brings experience, knowledge as well as tremendous passion to this program. He considers himself fortunate to work with student athletes as his dream is to see sport academy students experience academic, and athletic excellence through the sport of hockey. Ultimately, winning at life (Life Champions) is his goal for all kids in the sport academy. 
Billy has worked with the academy since its inception in 2004.
